What a prayer dress is, and how it differs from an abaya

A prayer dress is made for salah. It goes on fast, it covers without needing anything underneath, and it is cut long and loose enough that it stays covering through standing, bowing and prostration.

An abaya is outerwear. It is worn over an outfit, out of the house, all day. The two overlap in appearance and not much else.

Why they are not substitute stock

A customer buying a prayer dress is not choosing between it and an abaya. She very likely owns several abayas already and wants something she can keep in a bag, at work, or by the door.

Stock them as a companion line, not as an alternative, and merchandise them next to each other.

What the cut has to do

Ankle length and sleeves to the wrist is the standard. The garment has to stay covering while the wearer moves through every position, which is a different test from standing still in front of a mirror.

Opacity matters more here than almost anywhere else, because nothing is worn underneath. Check any sample against daylight before you commit.

The fabric decision follows the setting, and the three settings want different things.

Home, mosque or travel

For home, soft and comfortable matters most: cotton or a soft blend. For a mosque, durability against floors and frequent washing. For travel, crease recovery and a small pack size, which points at crepe.

Most prayer dresses are sold one-size, which fits a narrow band of customers well and everybody else badly.

We will grade a length run for you. It costs very little and it is a real differentiator on a product page full of competitors offering nothing but "free size".

What is the difference between a one-piece prayer dress and a two-piece set?

A one-piece pulls on in a single motion and packs smaller. A two-piece, usually a skirt with a top or a dress with a khimar, gives fuller coverage and a better fit at the shoulder.

Do prayer dresses need a separate lining?

No. The fabric is chosen to be opaque on its own, which keeps the garment light and the price sensible.

How long should a prayer dress be?

Ankle length, with sleeves to the wrist. It has to stay covering while the wearer moves, not just while she stands.

What fabric is best for a prayer dress?

It depends where it will be used. Cotton or a soft blend for home, something more durable for mosque use and frequent washing, and crepe for travel because it recovers from folding.

What does namaz dress or salah dress mean?

The same product under regional names. Namaz is the Persian and South Asian word, salah the Arabic one.

Is a two-piece prayer set the same as a co-ord set?

No. A co-ord is styled for everyday wear. A prayer set is cut for coverage during salah and is not intended as outerwear.

Can prayer dresses come with an attached hijab or khimar?

Yes, and many buyers prefer it because there is nothing to lose or arrange. Say which you want at quoting.

What sizes do prayer dresses come in?

We will grade a length run rather than selling one-size. Most of the market does not, which is a reason to ask for it.

Are prayer dresses good for travel?

The right fabric is. Crepe recovers from being folded in a bag, which is what makes a travel prayer set worth carrying.

Do you make kids prayer sets?

Yes, made to order, and they sell well next to the adult ones. Mother and daughter pairs are a natural fit here.

Can I mix one-piece and two-piece sets in one order?

Yes. Both count toward the same 20 piece minimum.

What is the minimum order for prayer dresses?

20 pieces across the whole order with a AED 2,000 minimum value, in any mix of styles and sizes.

How long does a prayer dress order take?

12 to 18 working days made to order, plus courier transit of usually 5 to 10 days.

Can I get a sample before ordering in bulk?

Yes. No piece minimum on a sample order, only a AED 2,000 order value, and the pieces are yours to sell.

Can prayer dresses be private labelled?

Yes, with your woven or printed labels, care tags and packaging, the same as anything else we make.
